Blender

Liquidiser... hand-held food blender

... sometimes referred to as a hand blender, a food blender, even a liquidiser. No matter under which name it is known, it can prove a useful piece of kitchen equipment.

There is no substitute for this small, yet so useful appliance, for making really superior soups and sauces... with an unsurpassable uniform smoothness. Most will hold a full litre of liquid at a time [1 3/4 pints].

If you either do not possess, or do not want to set up your food processor... then for small amounts of mayonnaise, hollandaise, breadcrumbs, babyfood, pesto, or anything else which needs brief blending... then this little miracle will excel. You can even create delicious and 'good for you' smoothies.

The best machines give excellent results and are light, comfortable, and above all easy to clean.

At present you will find that the market leaders for this type of appliance are Braun and Kenwood... check out their models at the stores mentioned below, and see which would best suit your needs. With the hand-held models you have to do a little more work. The full-blown model has a goblet where ingredients are pulverised in seconds at the press of a switch... nowadays, the goblets are dishwasher-proof.

At Argos you will find a selection of Braun liquidisers, including the recommended, and low priced, MR400 at £13.99.

Tesco stocks Kenwood models.

Whilst at 24-7 Electrical you can find both the Braun MR400 and a brilliant selection of Kenwood models.

Over 35,000 Great Value items, for you, your family and your home at Littlewoods Direct... just type 'blender' into the search facility to check what they currently have on offer.
