Sandwich Makers
Choose an Easy to Clean model

You may decide that sandwich makers are a 'must have' appliance for your own use; they could be on a wedding present list; or you could have children, grand-children, or a god-son or daughter going to University... it would be an ideal and most useful present!

I have always maintained that unless an appliance is ready to use on the work surface it is unlikely to be used. You have to make your decision as to which appliances you are most likely to benefit from yourself and also according to the amount of space you have available on your worktop.

I have special favourites, like my health grill, [another Breville, see 'Grill' on 'Kitchen - Small' page] and with limited space, my sandwich maker never gets used... though that probably has a lot to do with the fact that it is a very old model and is horrendous to clean!

Sandwich making appliances now are far superior to what they were just a few years ago. Here I am referring to the type of appliance which cuts and seals your sandwich and you end up with a sealed triangular hot meal... the fillings are only limited by your imagination and personal taste.

The model I recommend is by Breville, a particular favourite brand - most reliable and innovative - what makes it a best buy is that the non-stick plates are removable, making cleaning so much easier. When cleaning don't use anything which is abrasive to clean these non-stick surfaces... it's far better to put them to soak in hot soapy water for a while, then you can easily wipe them clean.

Breville machines normally are heavier and more solid feeling than lots of other brands, this one is no exception... and it makes beautiful even toasted sandwiches extremely quickly.
