That said, I think a steam cleaner is a brilliant tool and wouldn't be without mine. It is a beautiful Morphy Richards Grimebuster in a lovely shade of green... quite a few years old now... the only thing I regret is that I didn't upgrade when I bought it and get an iron attachment as well... they are supposed to be very good. This particular make [and upgraded model] is still regarded as the best buy in steam cleaners. I will add possible stockists choices nearer the bottom of the page, but first let's get down to what you can expect your steam cleaner to achieve. If you, or any family members, either hate the smell of, or are allergic to some of the many household chemicals we rely on these days... then a steam cleaner will be a boon. They do so many of the jobs for which chemicals are commonly used. Storing the chemicals can be a hazard especially if you have young children, either of your own, or ones who visit your home. The Grimebuster comes with really good instructions on how to use it, what it will do, and what to be careful of... safety precautions after use - allowing it to cool, etcetera. The cleaning tasks it copes with range from cleaning windows... you steam them then wipe the damp off with a squeegee [Ettore are best, from a Janitorial supplier or DIY superstore] then use an old facecloth or other towelling item to dry and clean off the squeegee and the window surrounds... so much easier and better than window cleaning gunge! You can dry clean curtains, suites and carpets. Treat your mattress to a dry clean to get rid of dust mites, strip wallpaper. Remove grease from floors and cooker tops. It is also good at brightening up the gloss work of doors, etcetera, after the winter. If you have pets, you will know what winter brings in the form of mud and mess. It is also brilliant at cleaning ceramic tiles... towelling is always the best material to wipe down the surfaces after they have been steamed. Quite an impressive range of cleaning tasks! Where to buy? I have only been able to find a Morphy Richards Grimebuster [obviously, not the exact model which I own] comparable to the one I have at the Co-op Electrical Shop... the Grimebuster 70515. The other electrical supplier had a much cheaper version... the Grimebuster 70460... this was 24-7 Electrical. The only other supplier was the catalogue shop Littlewoods [the cheaper model only, 70460... though when you first see the difference in price you won't think so]. But, if you take into consideration free delivery, the 'cash bonus' for joining, and the normal discount... the price would work out to be about the same! And if you pay for it over 20 weeks the credit is free. I always think having a catalogue is a very useful addition to your buying facilities, even though prices may not be the best initially, there is free delivery, and a cash back system of usually somewhere in the region of 10%, even if you use it only as a personal shopping facility... and normally very good sales, though this applies to clothing more than anything else. I have added links below, for your convenience and interest, to some of our other pages...
Isn't this an offer that's too good to miss? |
