Where to Buy Appliances

Buying Choices... with Pros & Cons

Where to Buy... Our page on Discount Electrical Appliances covers this subject from the perspective of buying choices when you are looking to purchase at the best possible price... and after all, who wants to pay 'over the odds' for purchases of any kind?

Therefore a quick run through of the pros and cons of each method of purchase should suffice here... Discount Electrical Appliances has more details, just click over to check it out.

We can help... Make your house a home... Then turn your home into a castle!

First, we have what must be considered the cheapest method of purchase..... Wholesale.

For this method, is the overwhelming price advantage.

Against, is the fact that you need to be a business buyer; the exact item you are looking for may not be available; and most importantly you need to know about what you're buying... for example if you want to buy a television - you need to be a competent TV repair specialist - if you are you can perhaps check the item at the warehouse, and/or get it working once it's purchased.

Another method, not mentioned before, is by Auction... there are a growing number of auctions, including the police and government ones, which you can attend... and at which you can achieve remarkable purchase prices. Apart from the need to be a business buyer... the againsts are about the same as above!

Government Auctions are a brilliant way to buy as long as you have the time and the transport. In fact you could probably make a business out of it!

Then we have eBay. Remember to check each sellers' feedback carefully before you buy, and also check the actual retail price of the items... then you could well bag yourself a bargain.

If eBay is new to you, why not have a good look around the auctions before you make up your mind on a purchase. And if you are worried that you may spend more than an item is worth in your excitement when bidding - let me give you a tip! Decide how much you are willing to bid, then set up that amount as your highest bid when making an offer... you will see how to do this once you have an account and have done some initial research... then forget totally about the auction! One more tip... use Paypal for safety [and don't get taken in by fake emails which purport to come from Paypal, see our identity theft and other scam warning pages] when you buy or sell on eBay.

One more safety tip I couldn't resist giving... set up 2 accounts on eBay, one for buying and one for selling.

Online, is my next 'where to buy' contender... prices of all electrical appliances on the internet should be cheaper, and significantly cheaper in some instances... yes, you will have to wait to have the item delivered, but the same would apply if you were buying a large item from any other supplier.

As for problems... you can see a perfect item in the shop, order it, and wait... and wait... and along comes a damaged one, you can even see it is damaged before it is off the lorry! No, there are plenty of pitfalls to buying in a retail shop, so don't let those thoughts put you off internet shopping... in the where to buy stakes you can be lucky, or unlucky any time and anywhere.

Very often - Argos - will be your next best bet in the price stakes, both online and off. Ordering online for collection at your local store for small items is SO convenient... and I, personally, have been very lucky with super bargains.

Try all the normal high street retailers, both large and small before makeing your decision about where to buy your appliances... usually the small retailers will take more time over your requirements and try to match your wants and needs to their best offer, whilst the larger stores will sell at a lower price, but not offer the same standard of service. This is where it is totally dependent upon YOUR 'where to buy' choice, and preferences.

And if 'seeing' before you totally decide if you will buy, plus the chance to pay in installments, credit free is your ideal choice... why not try...

Some brands are notoriously unreliable, some are known for their reliability... whichever way round you take it, it's the exception which proves the rule! Where you buy doesn't make much difference, apart from the price.
